So last year in say, July, I had to replace my brake master cylinder because it was leaking.

I bought a reman from Schmucks and put it in.

Now, back in say, end of January, I had to replace it because it was leaking!

This new one I had on does'nt seem to be leaking. But it is exhibiting the same issues as the last.

This new one I put in, I did not bench bleed. The crap they had in the box to do it with was junk. I never did it with the first replacement either.

So I had to bleed all sides of the brakes to get the air out, no biggie. It worked VERY well when I finished putting it in. I would barely need to get on the pedal and I would be close to locking the wheels!

But now, I noticed it takes alot more pressure to get the same effect. What could this be?

Like the replacement, it looks like it is leaking from behind the cylinder between it and the booster. I figured it is the lube they put in it.

Other then that, I have no clue. I certainly would like to know why the first one I replaced leaked so soon?

Does not bench bleeding it have anything to do with it?

No, but you really should do it. All you need is half a hardline ($2) and loop it from one port into the pot where the fluid is. Then pump it until the bubbles stop. You can do it on the truck or in a vise.

If its leaking out the back, its the seal. Its likely a low quality part. Thats what you get from those places (Kragens, Schmucks, Vato Zone).

VATO ZONE!

HAHAHA!

...hence why it is lifetime warranty.

I guess I should contact the dealer for one?

Maybe. What brand is it? I've used Cardone (I think) on my truck with good luck. Its a new piece, not a reman.
