Bad News for the HOC

So my Volvo S40 is acting weird-hard to start on cold mornings,heater aint puttin out,etc,etc.This from a 70K miles car with NO history of any issues.I run a diagnostic and car is throwing no codes.In to Volvo shop we go (on Monday).Get car back today along with a bill for 1800 pesadas.HOLY SWEDISH SH--,Batman.I have 2 coronaries and a stroke.Replaced this ,that and the other thing and Volvo tech labor costs are 90 bucks an hour.A brain surgeon makes less.Anyone out there with two brain cells to rub together needs to enroll at Wyo Tech for a couple of years and come to the Volvo shop in Chattanooga and get feelthy rich.I am starting the "HOF Fund (help the old fart fund) immediately.Any contributions will be much appreciated.Lol.BJ

Yeah but the techs might only get 25 -30 an hours....the shop sucks up the rest....but damn 1800 bones.... I hope they called and checked before they commenced work

damn, kinda sounds like we are in the same boat this week. i haven't 1800 yet this week but i am sure it is coming. sorry to hear that, they are sure rapeing you on that 90 bucks an hour.

By law in Canada an estimate must be within 10%. If its over that they must ok the difference before they can complete the work.

anything volvo is expensive especailly if it's within about 10 years old.

After I recuperated from my heart attack,I reviewed the itemized statement.New coil packs,new electronic module fro the automatic A/C,some software for my tranny,and a bunch of little sh--.Since I havent spent any money on the car except for routine maintenance,I guess I can live with this.But u guys are right,c'est la poop on u Volvo.The real issue is they gotcha by the scrodey cause I sure cant work on the thing and they are the only game in town.BJ
