i just realized that i've never changed brake pads before. but i rode my front ones out to the end now. when i stop hard, i can hear the actuall calliper scraping the rotor. it was happening only with really hard stops but now i dont have to stop as hard for it to rub. so i think that this would be a good time to get new pads. how hard is it? i've seen my dad do it when i was a kid but i dont remember anything. is there any tricks to it or is it just bolt on?

extremely simple man, two bolts i believe to remove the caliper pull the pads out put the new ones in and vuala, you might need a c clamp to push the caliper piston back in.

one bolt then it will swing up pull the old pads and use a C clamp to close the caliper install the new pads and put some grease on the slide pin. it will keep the caliper from binding. reinstall the bolt and your set.

It is sometimes difficult to get the drum off. There are two large screws holding it on and they rust and are the devil to get out. What I usually do is take the wheel off, spray the two screws with PB Blaster, wait about 30 minutes and take a large Phillips head screw driver, put it in the screw and tap the screwdriver GENTLY with a hammer.Sometimes that will loosen the screw enough to get it out.Brakes are easy to change when u get the drums off.BJ

Theres 2 threaded holes in the rear drums you can screw a bolt into and it will make the drum come off towards you. Changing the pad is easy but keep track of where the springs go.
