Now that's a sweet b-day present!

Well,I'm 2 days away from the big 2-1,and seeing how my birthday falls on a Tuesday,and I work afternoons,I won't be home during the evening to celebrate with my family,so we had a little birthday dinner and stuff this afternoon.
So my mom slides this box into the kitchen and says "hope it's what you wanted..." I tear into it and there sits a beautiful Craftsman MIG welder. I couldn't say anything,I was just shocked. I was like "no way!!"
We open it up,and it comes with a nice Craftsman angle grinder too. This welder can be used both with or without gas,which is good to have the option.
This is just perfect,because I have a bunch of bodywork to do on the truck,like patching some holes in my bed floor,the bolt holes from the mirrors in my doors and to weld on my roll pan when I get it.
Then,to top off the already amazing present of the MIG welder,my mom hands me an envelope from my grandparents. Inside sits a cheque for $1000!!! So,I can either save that and put it towards my road trip down south this summer,since I need about $1500 for that,or I can go ahead and get my tires,sub and amp,and then my truck's about done for this year.
But man...MIG welder. Sweet. Have to love a generous family like I've got!

congrats mikey! sounds sweet.....i'd save half for the road trip & use the other half on your truck....but that's just me....happy early b-day!

yea,the half and half idea is quite good....my tires are going to run me around $550,and they're the next most important thing my truck needs.

hell yea..happy bithday indeed.... where ya headed down south.. im takin my dawg down the east coast for a coupple weeks this summer.raleigh.wilmington, myrtle, and daytona...when ya headdin down?

Planning to hit Florida. Jacksonville to see a friend,and Ft Lauderdale to see my uncle. Hoping middle of July when I'm on shutdown for 2 weeks at work.
