LOOKIN GOOD!! GLAD TO SEE YOUR MAKIN PROGRESS, I SEEM TO BE STUCK IN A RUT, MY PISTON WAS SHIPPED TO WIESCO 2 WEEKS LATE, AND THEY ARE STILL 3 WEEKS OUT, SO IT WILL BE AFTER X-MAS BEFORE MY MOTOR IS READY. IT LOOKS LIKE I WILL BE BUSY AFTER THE FIRST OF THE YEAR, WITH THE MOTOR, AND I HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL X-MAS TO USE MY NEW WELDER, MY GIRLFRIEND BOUGHT ME A LINCOLN ELECT. PRO-MIG 140, BUT WON'T LET ME "UNWRAP IT" UNITL X-MAS. THEN I CAN PUT MY NEW RAD SUPPORT IN, AND GET ON WITH THE ENGINE BAY, BEFORE THE MOTOR GOES IN.
sweet just dont drag thru those link bars i hope
Real Tight... Wanna give me a hand doin' mine? lol...if you were only closer.
That looks sweet man...
I noticed a bit of rust on the drive there...
before you welded was there any rust on the frame or the drive where you welded? and if so did you sandblast it or how did you go about cleaning it up for the notch and 4-link to be welded in?
The frame is nice and solid. I made sure and checked it out really good before I put any work into it. I used my pistol grinder with a 24 grit disc to clean up the rear end and frame rails. The surface rust comes off very easy with a wire wheel. I'm going to clean the whole rear end probably tomorrow so I can paint all of it. I have seen these at the salvage yard where the frame breaks right behind the cab. Looks kinda cool like the bed tits back but I bet it's not to good to drive it like that
pimp dude i just finished my notches today ill send in a pic tomarrow they look like they where factory or better
lol ask bj (aka the kid or mazdawgydawg or sumthin) lol his truck did that on its way to a wreckers
