how much is gas where you are now? last time i looked at a sign it was 2.89 for regular here.....

do the prices have any of you looking for something better on gas? since i sold my old mazda i have been wanting another one, but with gas nearing $3 a gallon, its tempting to get a shit (er...econo) box that gets 40+ mpg...

so far i have found that Festivas, metros, and 92-95 civic vx's get 40+ (metro and civic get 50+.....

i know people make fun of these cars, but when they start talking shit, start comparing gas mileage and they will STFU

whats your opinions?

the prices vary, but if you notice usually they go up on wednesday evening for those traveling on the weekend and "if" they go back down they do so on sunday evening. the prices have been @ 2.85 a gal. for reg here..... my yota (daily) is getting @ 22 mpg and i drive 57 mi. one way to work 6 or 7 days a week, so it has been averaging @ $130-150 a week in gas. i remember back in the day ('87-88) gas for under a dollar a gal for reg....
even when i got my maz in 93 it only took @ $15-16 to fill it up...those were the days!!

Diesel is the answer. Atleast for now. A VW TDI will get 50 MPG on the highway and 40 + in the city. Plus, it doesn't need to be a bare-bones "econobox".

Also a Civic HX will get 40+ MPG and is not horrible to drive.

I can't wait for Honda to bring over their diesel.
