alarm question

i had an aftermarket alarm installed on my 87' b2000 but the damn thing keeps going off all by itself, i have already turned the sensitivity all the way down and it still does it. does anybody have any idea whats goin on with it??

Check your pin switches on your doors. If the alarms hooked to them one might be bad setting off the alarm.

yea there hooked up 2 the alarm but where do i get new ones would a parts house have them also how would i be able 2 tell if its bad or not

when you open the doors your dome light will go on f they are good you can sand off any corosion with steel wool they are only a ground trigger and rarley go out

haha. who installed it? i used to work at best buy installing a;; there crap and they warranty it, if theres a problem go back, it could be your door triggers, the only realy way to tell without replacing them is when your alarm goes off, does it give that beep beep beep beep pre warning or does it just go off? and if it gives the pre warning your door triggers are bad or your shock sensor is turned the wrong way or possibly bad. if it doesnt and it just goes off, check your remote it might be shorted some how setting off the panic button. good luck

a nother way to check you door switches is to put the key in and open the door there should be the warning buzz going off

no there is no warning buzzer but i have never had one and the alarm just goes off i have already taken it back and they replaced everything including the remote, brain, and shock sensor
