hey i found this job today... its a body shop that is looking for trainee's...

i would start out at 8.50/hr making fenders and tanks for BMC choppers, then moving on to street rods, choppers, and customs for people.

when i went into the shop, they had an

-old panel with a fresh 351 sittin in the frame,

-55-57 chevy 2 door that had the door tops and everything rounded off to make it a roadster and a smoothed out body and firewall

-a older 30's ford that was all laid out and had smoothed out body mods

-several BMC fenders and tanks

-nash rambler that had tires wider than my body on rear and a full roll cage

he seemed interested in me... i showed him pics of my past minis, current ride, the rides i've worked on in VC and Custom Creations...

said it'd be 35-40 hrs/week, 8-5 daily...

WISH ME LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!

that sounds like an awesome opportunity for you! Best of luck with it!

They pay may suck to begin,but you'd be making more than where you are now,and having more fun,not to mention learning some real useful skills that employers these days are dying for.

Man,I better get my ass in gear and get my apprentice application in soon.

update time... i got the job at harbor freight... been workin since friday at 9 am... 2 shifts so far and once i get done on sundays shift, i'll have worked more hours and gotten more pay then a week of arbys would have done...

i also get paid weekly, so i'm figuring...

8.50/hr - 35-40 hrs a week

@35 hrs - 297.50 before taxes
@40 hrs - 340 before taxes

being fulltime, i'll most definetly get more then 40 which means overtime..

plus i get 20% off all tools and hardware at the store, which means oiler, filter, and water seperator for my edc.. welder... new wrenches, sockets, ratchets, air tools... paint gun... all safety shit...

oh yeah, its a kick ass job...

Good job with the job man! I'm happy you got a job in what you have a passion for? MAN! I'm envious to you! I really wish body shops around here hired apprentices with no tools!

Harbor freight is also a great job! Atleast I'm sure of it... Discounts on the supplies is invaluable! Haha, you are just working for their tools! Tell them, instead of a check just get tools! LOL!
