Future Cast

Well guys and gals I am about to check out of this site on a semi-permanent basis.One thought for all u sharp mini-truckers to ponder.At some point in the near future,it will not be economically feasible for aftermarket companies to make parts for our trucks,and Mazda Motors (read Ford) will slowly phase out stock parts as well.My question for u is : What will be the next great small or mini-truck for all us shade trees to grab and start customizing? Sorry to hear you will be leaving. I have only been a member for a short time, but will miss your input. I may have to agree with you regarding the Mazda B series, but if people are still out there customizing there pre 1970 beetles, I'm guessing the mid 80's Mazda still has atleast 15 years left . bah..humbug...ill do like the cubans and make my own parts outa popcans or sumthin!....lol....all the more reason to swap out that crappy 4 banger.. i guess we will all have to put new engines in out trucks if we want to keep getting engine parts.. as far as brakes and suspensions i think that most of us on the site will just get even more creative and find ways to evolve our b series.. i plan on having my mazda for a long time to come...but dam if you can still get repro. parts for a fod falcon or a ranchero or a damn corvair i think we will have no troubble finding parts for the at least the next 20 years

Sorry to hear you'll be leaving. I agree with Immortal. Our trucks are quite popular in the aftermarket scene and there is demad for the parts,so I think we've still got a few years left. Our oldest 86-93 trucks are now 21 years old already!

no good bj, hate to hear your leaving us...i will keep in touch so when i do get the ole maz running we can hook up & have that cold brew we've been b~s'n about!

as for the mazdas, they are like any other vehicle, as time goes on, it will be harder & harder to source parts from the mfg's and aftermarket sources.....but anybody who is truly wanting to customize somthing badly enough will "improvise, adapt & overcome", this is how & what has been done since people first started customizing their hot rods & such long ago.

as far as the next mini, we may be hard pressed, the vehicle lineups from the mfg's all seem to be going towards the mid sized trucks, not the mini, but that probably won't last more than another 10 years with the way gas prices are, the mfg's will have to start making alternative sources to power our vehicles, & i kinda doubt the average joe will be able to afford to run a larger gas powered vehicle.....

Thanks NYTRD.Hocsdawg is in the shop as we speak for bypass surgery.Lol.Weber 32,cam, lifters,springs, retainers and so forth.All body mods are finished 2600i hood ,4x4 grille with custom paint,etc.Ole HOC is going to semi-retire in a few months and travel a bit with Ms. HOC.I plan to show the truck in a few shows as a "semi-daily driver" and sometime in the near future will call u ,see where u are with your beast and have a cool one.When I get ready to sell the dawg I will call u as well as u will appreciate it as much as I do.Will holler at u soon.Just my 2 cents,the next great customizing truck will be the Yota Tacomas and T100s-plentiful cheap and toughas Hell.BJ

I see what you mean about finding parts for them. I had a hard time finding some parts for my first mazda and that was 4 or 5 years ago. Definatly mid 90s tacoma's are going to be the next Mazda. They will be cheap to pic up and easy to work on.

$245 every 6 months for liablility.
