Can Anyone Tell me How big our Gas Tanks Are, B2200 ext cab, Carbed 2.2L...Im thinking its around 55Litres? I have no idea...i can never remember when i fill up...Im thinking about getting a Aluminum Fuel Cell for when i bag it, and its Standard so it has an external fuel pump, I just wanted to know what size would work best. Thanks!
Also how hard is it to install one? i know you have you 1.) Fuel pickup 2.) Fuel Return 3.) Rollover vent...Im not sure what else...All help is appreicated, Thanks!
25ppl checked it out, and no one has an Answer? C'mon now. ANYONE?
55 l =14.5 u.s. gal
i think the ext cabs gas tanks are slightly larger than the reg cabs.....i took mine out along with all the fuel lines as it had sat for several years & they were all gummed up....i'm going back with a 16 gal fuel cell as it cost $250 for a new gas tank & $175 for a fuel cell......
your right about the pickup, return & vent....there also is the wire to the sending unit for your fuel guage......the tanks are easier to mess with w/o the bed on the truck as there are some bolts which are a pain in the wazoo to get to with it on.
I think they're 50-55L. It doesn't cost me much to fill my truck up,maybe $40 from empty...and it doesn't go very far...so it's either a small tank or really shitty on gas.
Now,my Rodeo, that's another story...82L of gas guzzling wonder....
lol, alright, well i wasnt sure, i think im gunna be going with a Fuel Cell, i just dont know what size yet, any suggestions? i wanna have around the same fuel consumption...
i posted a pic of the fuel cell i bought for my dawg, it's a 16 gal jaz unit, i got it from jegs....it was as close to the stock size as i could get w/o going smaller or having to have one custom made.
here is a link to the post...there is also a link to jeg's where i got it from
So 16Gal, is closest to the Stock tank size?
check on jeg's site, if i'm not mistaked either 16 gal or 12 gal were the closest to factory size as i could get.....but you have to get the gm sending unit as it is the closest that will work w/ our fuel guage...but it will read backward i.e. on e the tank will be full, on f it will be empty...our guage is 90-0 ohm & the gm sending unit is 0-90 ohm....the univeral sending (30-240 ohm) unit & the ford unit (30-70)wouldn't allow it go show totally full or empty, so you wouldn't know exacly when you would run out!
lol,the guy in this month's Minitruckin Mag with the blue Nissan 720 has an 11 gal fuel cell, and no gauges whatsoever and he says it's like riding a motorcycle...."just lift the cap and look in" lol.
