b2200 2.2 litre carb white smoke only when warm

Blew a head gasket, ending up with #4 cylinder full of water. Replaced head gasket but did not plane head as after close inspection head seemed fine. Put in new head gasket & now only smokes when engine warms up. Any suggestions on what would cause this?

Could be a number of issues, from a cracked head to a warped block. You might get a block pressure checker and verify that the water jacket still has integrity.
