Hello to all MazdaBscene members.
Im from the UK. Tying to spread the scene....

Im in the early stages of my 88 b2000 build. and im have a nightmare trying to remove the rear wheelbearing

Not sure if anyone can help me, But im trying to separate the the rear bearing from the axle shaft ,Ive removed the lock nut but that bearing just won't move. I have had it on the press but i didn't give it much more than 1/2 a ton as the bars i was using just bent . bloody drum backplate just gets in the way and makes the job so much harder. Anyway if anyone has any tips and was wondering if anyone has had the same problems.

Thanks to all Minitrucks that can help me.

MODELS WITH PRESSED BEARINGS

Using an arbor press and suitable bearing replacer tool, Fig. 4, remove bearing and bearing retaining collar from axle shaft. If pressure necessary to remove the bearing from the axle shaft exceeds 10 tons, or if bearing removal tool is not available, grind the bearing retaining collar and cut it with a chisel. Use caution to avoid to damaging axle shaft.
Remove the bearing retainer from the axle shaft. Clean and inspect bearing retaining collar, spacer and axle shaft for wear and corrosion. Replace any damaged component as required.
Reverse procedure to install. During installation, position bearing onto axle shaft with sealed side of bearing facing toward the axle shaft flange. Do not attempt to press on both the bearing and bearing retaining collar at the same time. If the bearing retaining collar requires less than 3 tons of pressure to install it onto the axle shaft, replace the bearing retaining collar.
MODELS WITH BEARING HOUSING

Straighten lock washer locking tabs.
Using a suitable spanner wrench, remove locknut and washer from axle shaft.
Using a suitable pulling tool, remove bearing and housing from axle shaft.
Remove bearing and race, spacer and oil seal(s), if damaged, from housing.
Reverse procedure to install.
