Just wanted to say hi, I have been browsing the forum for a few weeks, getting ideas for my truck, and decided to finally become a member. I live on the Sunshine Coast in B.C., which is a ferry ride from vancouver (but we are not on an island). I own a 1990 Mazda b2200 which i bought a couple years ago for $400, it's in fairly good shap body wise, no real bad rust, but does have lots of little dings and dents.
So far i have shaved the doors, tailgate, removed the rear bumper, phantom grill, 15" chrome nissan rims with 195/50r15 tires, flipped lower bj's, re-indexed torsions, removed bump stops and mounts, 2" blocks in the rear, and removed middle 2 leafs leaving the main and overload.
Future plans, i am rebuilding a 2.2 litre engine to replace the tired old one that is in there now (456 000km and blown rings in #4 cylinder) will put any performance parts i can find into it like a weber crab pacesetter header, trying to find a good cam, pistons, and all that. Will finish shaving the emblems, and get a rollpan for the rear. Do ALOT of bodywork. 4 link the rear, and get a nice air ride setup. I dunno what else yet i'm sure i will come up with some good ideas browsing this site.
yeah there are definatly a lot of helpful people hear, i have learned a lot just from browsing the forums.
Oh and the grill i got from the wrecker by my work for $100. I am getting the chrome bumper and the engine i want to rebuild soon as well.
