Hi there,
I'm a new owner of an '91 B2200 PlusCab with 220,000kms on her.
Initially she had an occaisional puff off smoke on start up but after an oil change, boy does she smoke!
It clears quickly but is quite dramatic! I've been told to do stem seals 'and see' if that cures it, to being told to swap the lump out 'cause its the rings'.
Other than the engine its in remarkable condition.
Any advice?
A relacement FE2 will run me approx. $3000CDN plus taxes.
Are there alternatives? I've seen articles on a 302 swap by the now defunct 'ultimatecustoms'.
Thanks

Valve seals are a cheap fix and worth it if thats the problem. The name have anything to do with the movie?

No connection to the movie.
Our other car is an '05 Mazda6 Sportwagon...hence 'sixpack'.
Concerning the stems seals....It'll cost me anywhere from $450 to $750CDN just to 'find out'!
If it's a ring job I subsequently need I've thrown good money after bad.

Welcome man. I noticed after I got mine I changed the oil, put regular motor oil in it and it smoked like a beast. Friend of mine told me to try synthetic oil and it only gives out a puff on the start up. Good luck.
