hey guys. im just gettin started with the suspension on my crew. truck came to me from a repo lot, and already had a mediocre bag job in it, but im tearing it all down to make it right,( and to lay on some bigger wheels ) I haven't even drove the thing yet. i just get to sit in it in the driveway and make VROOM sounds! lol! progress will be a lil slow, but hopefully pretty steady...so, on with the pics!
This was it: laid out as far is would go...
blew the front end apart, and started trimming a lil bit
and fillin in the gaps
notched for tie rods
test fitting everything
made in the usa!
makin some room here
rubs a lil bit, so...
i make a lil bit MORE room!
well.. thats about enough for now... i'll update more a lil later in the week.

heres some more pics to entertain until i get more work done.
got my new tool box set up, and filled up... i need a bigger one already.
got my pop's bandsaw up and runnin
whippin out some notches... 2x4x0.250
drilled and tapped for bolts to hold the gooseneck crossmember
1/8" sheet aluminum... using to make a gauge/ switch panel
a LOT of polishing... the alum was in pretty rough shape to start with
robbed an overhead console from a suburban. makes for a sweet location

I dont want to put words in his mouth but I would say notching the LCA so he doesn't have to cut the bottom side of the frame, and doing a very nice job at it!

dropd80 is on the money.. notching and plating the lower arm while workin on a bench is a LOT easier than sittin under the truck tryin to notch the fram and reinforce it. by trimming the lca mounting pockets and doin this lil mod, i gained 4 more inches of upward travel for the lca.. more than enough to lay the front end out on 22s!
