I would like to lift it. Anyone know anyone that makes a lift for the 2wd? i can always do a body lift, but i would like to put a 6" suspension. it is independent front suspension.
I also had a question for the interum, i wa told that i am oing to have to buy new wheels because the ones i have are 16.5" and that it is going to be very difficult to find tires soon, legit?
16.5's have always been a little hard to find, but I haven't heard anything about them no longer being made. I guess it's possible since I don't believe any OEM has used 16.5 for many years now. Maybe Trevor (lockone) might know and chime in.

I haven't been able to find a lift for these trucks in 2wd. Fabtech used to make one but I don't think they do anymore.
They used to make a lot of 16.5 tires in offroad treads and sizes, but I don't know anymore.
Could always move up to 19.5's, I know a guy that has some direct-bolt 8 lug ones for sale.
19.5's aren't going away, used on many, many medium and heavy duty trucks!

There are many tires in 16.5 off road applications. Interco, which makes Super Swampers has several different styles and sizes in 16.5
One thing i was thinking of doing was a solid front axel swap and make it a 4wd. I dont have the ability to do that, but how much would it cost to have someone do that? i mean the transfer cas, drive shaft, axle, springs, and fabing it up, worth it?
i think i am going to check out the local salvage yard to see if cant get some used 16" steel rims. I heard that in the mid 90's the bolt pattern change slightly, but not noticable to the naked eye?
As far as I know, GM dually wheels are the same pattern all the way to 2000 - 8 on 6.5" circle with a 4.56" center bore, hub-piloted. In 2001 it went to 4.60" for who the hell knows what reason...
