Congrats sparky...proud of ya for stickin in there and gettin it rolling....and i understand your excitement....the night i got mine rollin there was a cruise-in in town and i drove mine there with no hood, tailgate, or rear bumper....didnt even have nuts on the bottom of either one of the 2 bed bolts in it lol but i got to drive it and that was all i was worried about....keep it up i wanna see it at a show next year

Do you still have the 6.5? Is it for sale?

thanks guys...
i still have the 6.5 diesel engine . but it isn't for sale.. i have it torn down setting on the engine stand in the garage.. the plan was to buy some new head bolts and put it back together. i bought the gasket set , but never made it any farther than that... go figure...lol
i would love to bring the beast to a show. in the under construction class...lol
i swear, it was like slo motion when i drove out of the driveway... i was waiting on something to fall off..lol. but i have to say. other than it needing a serious front end alignment. i definitely improved the trucks ride quality and steering from stock.. it rides better than a caddy.. its almost like its hovering or floating...lol. .
if the valve cover wasnt leaking. i would drive it around some more...missing the front and rear bumper, no running lights, no tail light lenses with the bulbs dangling in the wind..... its a good thing that i live on a dead end street/circle....lol
i also noticed on my couple trips around the block. i couldn't stop sticking my left arm and my head out of the window like a dog . i just couldnt believe how low the truck was to the ground.. its not right! but i love it!

Pics.......? Just how low we talkin here LOL glad to hear you got it drivin again. Ill never forget the first time I drove the 79 I had after I installed the static 6-8 drop and put the 60 series tires on it (it was more like a 9-11 drop) I pulled in to a gas station and an old farmer came out and was shakin his head in dissapproval I LOL literally, and he asked me why I wanted to ruin such a good "farm truck" Thats a sign I live in Iowa.
