pussys! mine is conventional 4.5" and i'm 6'3-6'4" and I drive mine everyday with no problem. LOL you don't need head room, and it makes you feel bigger also! haha If you are doing allot of towing and such i'd stay conventional so you can retain your factory hauling capibility, but if you are just towning a 1 car trailer with vehicle or less, then stock floor it. I charge 3-4k for either stock floor or conventional.

On these big trucks I wouldn't do a stock floor. The frames on these are designed this way for a reason, I know notching doesn't help my point, but in an accident a homemade stock floor frame isn't going to fold up like it is supposed to. There is also a reason it is 4 or 5 " tall. With this much weight in an accident something has to take up the impact which the frame is designed to do other wise its all in your seat belt. The body is designed for impact too but you gotta sacrifice somewhere and in my opinion head room doesn't mean as much as a strong structurely designed frame. It scares me looking at some peoples stock floor frames even on mini's. Some look like they bought a welder from walmart and learned on their frame.

ok my buddy is waivering between doing a 2.5" channel job on the chop top dually. Is there anything that I should be aware of. Like brake and gas pedal issues, of steering issues? I am just going to drop the body mounts and cut the floor over the rails...i'll section the lower rear of the cab the same amount to keep it clean. Any help would be appreciated, just wondering what i'm in for. Done this before, just not on this style of truck...thx

I wouldn't do this on a dually. I'd go with a convential or a stock floor. A frame channel works on mini's but it would be very instusive on a dually due to the tall ass frame
