How to get from a 2/4 to a 5/7?

Ok guys, this is my first "real" truck. It's a 91 C3500 and today I got to compare it to a co-workers 96. This helped me confirm that it has been dropped 2/4. The from I'm still unsure how but the rear I'm 100% sure it has hangers and shackles. Now for the question part. I definitely want a 5/7 static drop. How do I get there from where I'm at now? A flip kit would be too far correct?

The front probably has springs in it to be lowered 2", if you want to go 5" all you need is spindles to achieve that stance.

On the rear to achieve 7" stance you will need to replace the shackles/hangers for stock ones and install a flip kit.

I have been told mine is 4/6, IF your going to
tow be aware that axle could hit frame if not
notched in the rear and over time could crack.

I was hoping you weren't going to say that. Oh well, I guess it's a trip to the junkyard for some OEM parts so I can go UP to go DOWN.

thanks for the info.

Im not sure if they still make it but western chassis lists some lowering leafs for the back. im not sure if they would work on yours or not but its worth a shot.

I've got a family member with a half ton 4WD that would swap me leaves for free. I may measure the pack thickness and see what I come up with.

BTW: I haven't found the western chassis leaves yet.

EDIT: Mine are 6 leaves and I think his are 4, Any thoughts?

You could add th 3'' spindles and re-arch the rear springs -3''. Or remove the overload first then see where static would be from there and take out the remaining from that arch. this would give you a smoother ride and if more payload is needed a set of helper bags.

Any thoughts about the Bell Tech 4" drop leaves for the C1500? Will I need shorter U-bolts?

BTW: The most I would ever use the truck for could be done with a 1/2 ton so the extra load capacity isn't required.
