Axle hitting frame

Just did a 5/7 drop on my 94CCD and the axle hits the bumpstops on the bolt in c-notch. Its annoying, and probably cant be eliminated unless I get helper bags, but I was looking and was wondering if anyone has removed the bumpstop pad on the axle itself? I may bust out a grinder and grind it off to gain another 1" or so. Just curious to see if anyone has done it and the results....

cut the bumpstops down! I had to do that on my s-10 no big deal.

Will it still hit with the bump stop cut out. If it will just hit once and a while and not to hard then ditch the bump stop, but if you gonna be smakin it like a pimp to a ho then I would fix with a bigger notch.
