On the crossmember thing. I remember someone on the fullsize chevy list was making them a while back.
I was going to make a tube one and have it work with stock or tube arms and use stock steering. no expensive Mustang II parts to hunt down. this would slid in and bolt to existing holes.
I have one of these designed for I beam Rangers. It would use tube arms and bolt in as well with no welding. I have this project on the back burner for now.
If gas prices come back down I see the older square body trucks being popular since they are easy to find, build, insure, and inspect.
