idles but dies when i give it gas like its out of fule but has half tank

installed new head gasket and e went for test drive but truck died and acted like it was out of gas but has a half tank. Wait a while and it will idle an run until bowl of carb is empty then dies and have to wait a while and same thing why isn't bowl filling up. Float an needle valve are not stuck either. Anyone got an idea

Bad fuel pump.

Changed that sttill the same. Mechanical fule pump

Loosen the fuel cap, The vent might be plugged.

When was the fuel filter (near the fuel pump) last changed? Is there any rust in the fuel tank clogging the intake sock?
