That's crazy. I wonder if you have to run with street legal tires on the track to be considered, or if you are allowed to use slicks.

I know he had to have working lights, signals, steel body, and it had to have a VIN tag and be registered and tagged just like a street car. Im pretty sure thats where the similarity ends.
He also had to drive it to all the races, the truck actually towed a trailer with all the spare parts. After every race his crew would swap fuel systems (race fuel for racing, pump gas for the drive), hook up the radiator, and swap tires for the drive. Then when he got to the next track they changed everything back to race mode.

I believe he also had different doors for weight steel for driving and carbon fiber or fiberglass for track
