Hydro line vs DOT line? Accuair/VU4

Hey all, getting ready to replumb my truck, sick of 1/2" and it's due. Thinking of going AccuAir e-level with VU4. Was going to run 3/8 SMCs but I dunno. Is hydraulic line with JIC fittings worth it over DOT with ptcs? Hydro work with the VU4?How about if you get stranded, hydro line needs to be crimped right? How are Asco for PTC?

JIC fittings do not work well with air. I'd stick with DOT line and PTC fittings. You can also do 3/8" copper, which will work perfectly in the PTC fittings (which are also found on the standard VU4 manifold).
