frame question

If I was to build a 3/4 frame for my extended cab 89 toyota out of 2x3 box tubing does it have to be .25 wall and should I stand it up or lay it flat? I may just do under the cab and leave the rest haven't really made up my mind. So the same question for either.

It dose not HAVE to be .250 wall. I build all my stuff from .1875 wall usually, never had an issue at all, not even on full size trucks.

You need to set the 2x3 tall facing up, its stronger that way.
