Im looking for some suggestions from you guys with bagged rides that are running shocks as to which ones i should go with. The cars fully bagged got a V8 under the hood and a heavy stereo system in the rear so keep that in mind.Which ones should i look into?

How long have they held up from the constant abuse from being layed to fully lifted?
I dont know much about shocks but i was under the assumption there were some designed for adjustable suspensions.

When i first bagged my car on 18's the stock shocks worked so i bought new ones and replaced them, they lasted maybe 6 months.

To me there is only one shock i will ever run again.. and it a Bilstein RCD shock... its a non adjustable shock but it was designed with air bagged equipped vehicles in mine.. I believe Seth from twisted minis sells em as does Grant Kustoms... If you call Grant just talk to Zac he has a wealth of info and he runs them on his personal ride... Expensive but if your really gunna drive your car thats what I would run... Hope that helps!

no matter what brand you choose, all companies have their collapsed & fully extended measurements either online or in the catalog. lay your car out & measure with it down, then lift it & measure that. then spend forever going through the catalog & go from there. you'll be buying them off part number alone. there's no actual ""use shocks from this vehicle"" way to do it.

When measuring suspension travel - full lift then layed out, would i take those exact measurements and buy the shocks so they would be fully extended and then fulled collapsed or do you space them little extra on both ends to avoid this?

I don't collapse them fully when laid out. I leave 1/8" in the shock. But aired up, the shock fully extended will stop the suspension from lifting anymore. So measure eyelet to eyelet minus 1/8" on the drop. That will determine the length of shock. You won't get much of a choice on the fully extended length. For instance, a 10" collapsed shock measurement will only give you around a 14"-16" extended measurement. So, look for the best extended measurement shock in a collapsed size that you need.

Hands down the RCD Bilsteins is the best riding shock on a bagged ride. I have been running them in our shop truck and my S10 for about a year now.

We stock and sell the most popular applications for air ride. Cars, Minis, and Fullsizes. I can also special order any off the wall size.
