hi! i had to replace my distributor due to some internal electrical damage. the problem is that i did not marked the timing before i pull put the distributor now i can't seem to align the # 1 spark plug. what is the correct timing? i the info on my hood says that it should be 5 degrees btdc bout idon't know how to align the distributor body. is there any diffrence between 91' and 92' distributors internal parts? mine looks something like this which is 1991. also what's the correct firing order?

you need to turn the motor to Top dead center on the #1 piston, which all you need to do is line up the mark on the crank pully with the one on the timing chain cover. CAUTION: the rotor for the 2.6 can be put on 3 different ways on atleast the 91's i am aware of. With the motor at TDC then install the dist. with the rotor pointing exactly at the #1 wire. If its only "close" turn the rotor a third and try again until its dead on. Firing order is 1-3-4-2. There are only 2 different dist. for the 2.6, vacuum advance and Electric advance. yours should be Elec. and the 92 is also electric. hope that helps man.
