can i take the i beams out of lets say a 73 f-350, cut them, and weld them together to make a "rat rod" straight axle?  of course with gussets.  any info would be great.  thanks.

the i-beams are forged pieces, plus i believe they go into a taper where they bolt to the frame (i may be wrong there, its been a while) you would be alot happier and healthier by buying an aftermarket kit if you want to run a straight axle
