So i'm thinking about doin a sheet metal dash in my canyon. Here are a few questions i have.. are you guys taking out the front window and welding it straight to the body. or are you making them mount to the factory dash locations? another question is,what about gauges? my trucks an 06. so what would i do about the gauges being all electric? im not sure if i wana adapt an older model dash in it or make something.. some input would help. thanks guys.

All our dashes we build are ones we bolt to front sheetmetal cowling. Now yes we would pull the front window along with all the other glass at one time. The guages are really only what you want to have. If you are running the stock engine then yes use the stock cluster.

I welded mine in and taking out the front windshield was a must in our case...

Its definately worth taking the windshield out, especially if you are building it out of sheetmetal. I used 3/16" roundbar to build a structure then welded studs on so my dash unbolts from the bottom. I actually tacked the structure to the body while I was building it so everything aligned later. Good luck and get ready for some frustration!
