Have fun with that. The only minor problelm I see is moving the booster under the truck. You won't have the room under the truck with a stock floor BD. The smallest booster I have seen is a 7" dia. Your frame will now be 4" tall. I am sure you will figure out where to put it though.

Id look into a stronger tansaxle than a vw bettle.  At least look into corvair transaxles, or even better a porsche unit.  They make adapters for both, and are much stronger.  With all the weight your going to have, that tiny VW tansaxle will not hold up.

look into an early eightys olds torenato. They where a transverse mounted small block. It would probably work much better for you then VW parts. We used one for a lambo kit car in highschool.

Yeah, a toranado would work nicely too.  Ive put a few in corvairs, plus you could get them with a 455 =] ---------------------------------------------Originally posted by blackicelook into an early eightys olds torenato. I know the late 60's models were, and had trouble holding up to the torque of the 455s that they came behind

http://mendeolatransaxles.com/md5.php you could also use one of these. they are a bit more expensive but it would hold up better than the above mentioned transaxles
