I have a bunch of 2"x2" metal that is 1/8 inch thick.I was wondering if that would be a good c-notch.What are the sizes of a one piece c notch. Thanks
i wouldnt advise usin 2x2,especially 1/8" wallthe smallest i would use, square tubing wise would be 2x3x3/16"
ok thanks ill just buy one thin or go see how much metal cost.I was told to cut all the corners at a 45 degree is that right.
I made my cuts for my notch at about 33 degrees or so. The notches had about 60 degrees when all was said and done. 2x3 at 3/16" should be the minimum for your notch, just to be safe.
Draw it out on the floor(card board if your married and building it in the garage ) with a sharpie. This has worked great for me, until the wife saw all the sharpie drawings.
^^ It is usually a good idea to take a couple of minutes and draw it out 1:1 before you start cutting. Sometimes the idea looks different on paper than it did in your head, drawing it out gives you the option to adjust/change things if you want.
