I went to a shop and they said that the meter is off  by 5-10 dbs

Would you expect any thing less from Wal-Mart?

lol, that meter only reads up to 140db i believe, i didnt even bother buying one i saw on clearence for like $5 cause i knew i was over 140 lol

the only thing those things are good for is to test use for your own gauge of if your gaining SPL by doing certain modifications.

go to radio shack adn get one. you can also got to www.parts-express.com might be one word and find one. if you just want to know what you are hitting try hitting one of your local stereo shops, if they are like me i will hook them up to see what they are hitting
