check out ratsun.net Do some searching before you post, they like to eat new comers alive, but don't let that scare you away from that site, they are really a bunch of good folks. I read everything on here that there about laying 2*3 on it's side for frame rails. It doesn't  seem like the best idea to do, and just run one rail. I think that I am going to run four rails of 2*2, with them tied to each other at several points under the cab. I just can't decide if I want to run 2 rails of 3/16" wall and 2 rails with 1/4" wall, or if I can get away with all 3/16" wall.

My buddy danny used 2x2 rails for a datsun. He gets a lot of flack for doing it but he has built a bunch of SFBD frames. It's been done is what i'm trying to say.

I found some 2.5"x2.5" 11 gauge. I am going to use it and run 4 rails, and section one end down on two of them to 2" so it meets up with the stock front clip. It will then have the cross member for the tranny and the carrier bearing, and fish plates at each joint.

I hope! I'll get back after it sometime in August, it is driving me nuts not working on it.
