Yes I do remember that now. It was a better solution then cutting the area out where it was hitting and welding a section of steel underneath it. Maybe we can get together and figure something out so that it won't be a problem. Is this a common problem on Rangers?

I talked with Brian at Illusive Design and Fabrication and he said that its common with these trucks and that I made the right call on telling you to heat and bend it. Sorry for getting on you about heating it, I completely forgot about us having that conversation. Again maybe we can get together and figure out something so you don't have to heat and bend it.

I misunderstood what you said, I was thinking you heated the pitman arm, I retract my previous statement...

You could have taken the tie rod off and slipped it into a bender to bend it instead of a torch. I understand is hasnt broke yet and works fine, but a tie rod is a pretty important piece of the steering system.

Unfortunatly not everybody has a couple thousand dollars worth of bender and dies at there disposal like you and I. I instructed him to do such and since hes building this truck at his house in his garage with what he has availible to him I can't blame him. If I were in his situation thats what I would have done. Again, I stated this earilier but I talked to someone about this that works with Fords alot and he says its a common practice.

the driver tie rod hits the pitman arm on my 92, but we just heated it a little and then jacked up the wheel all the way so it bent itself...

yup if you dont have a bender heat it up and bend it just make sure you let it cool down by its self and not quinch it. oh yea make sure you get an alignment after.

HAHA, mine did too. Just laid the truck out on it and the weight of the truck bent it.
