im sure someones done it.. ive got an 03 w/ a traditional bd.. im getting kind of sick of draggin through roll pans every other week and would prefer the look of the stock rear bumper than a roll pan.. i got a stock rear bumper for my dime yesterday not thinkin about the bd, went to bolt it up and realized it's going to sit about 4 in high than where it needs to be...

my question is, how you guys are mounting them up to fit properly? make new brackets for the bumper? i also was considering drilling out holes on the bottom of my frame rails to bolt it up, but not sure how strong that will be or how it will look...

if youve got any tips or hints on how i can do this, let me know...thanks!!

make new mounts that relocate the bumper

much like people do when they install body lifts

not a dime or bodydroped but take a look at my profile i love the look of a rear bumper Have done one on a bodydroped ford and just make some L brackets to move it down really easy and just as strong as stock i would say

ya it would be pretty easy to make some drop down brackets man, i think bumpers on bd trucks can be tits if done right

i agree, i tend to like the look of step bumper on bd'd trucks... plus it's a big nice hunk of metal to drag

i actually just figured it out using the stock brackets...

i took the brackets, drilled holes in the top of them, and drilled holes through the bottom of the frame and bolted them up using the stock bolts...

since the brackets are meant to bolt on the side of frame rails on my dime, none of the wholes from the bracket to the bumper lined up.. I ended up just welding the bumper to the brackets on the top, sides, and bottom of the brackets on the back of the bumper..

it turned out pretty nice, i'll post up pics here shortly..

here's some pics i just snapped.. i moved the bumnper in closer to the truck to eliminate that fat gap around the bed corners in the rear.. i'll need to trim some of the plastic top pad so it doesnt sit right on the body....

i think it turned out pretty dope for a quick job... plus it's a little different since it seems 95% of bd'd trucks have roll pans or skins on them..

what do u guys think?
