can you switch 97 s10 interior with 01 interior?

Im buying a 01 s10 for the bed and im wondering what it takes to switch the interior. I have a 97 both are extra cabs. I know I have to swap the doors. But what about the dash? Can you make the 01 dash fit if so how? what other issues might i run into? Thanks.

yes youre right about the doors, you will have to swap the entire 01 door onto the 97 to make the 01 door panels work, and you need to run the 01 door panels or it wont line up with the 01 dash. other than that, the mounting points are the same, bolts right in. dunno what youre gonna do about wiring tho..

I didn't have to swap my doors. I just modified the inside of the door to make the panels work. I had to cut a piece out and bend it down, and weld some nuts to the inside so I could bolt the panel to the door under the arm rest. Also if you keep the 97 dash you'll have to modify the dome light switch when your door closes to turn it off.

I definetly want to swap dashes. Will the new spedo and tac work? what about all the wiring for the light, heat and air switches and buttons. Will that all just be plug and play?

You'll have to do some modifying if you want the new dash in there as far as wiring the speddo and tac. I would imagine that the heat and air would all be the same but I haven't looked into it.

you'll have to see if the dash cluster will plug in and work. I know with my old 94 for the cluster it wasnt a plug in, it had the terminals that the cluster almost sat on for contact. You can always MAKE something WORK.

From what I've heard you also have to switch the HVAC system because it also changed in 98 to accomodate the new dash...

my heater and air controls are in the glove box so i might be able to keep them.

My 97 has the same type of gauge tho were theres no plugs just contacts the it slips onto. whats the 98 and up look like?
