$105 is a little hard to swallow I got mine when on sale for like $50. If you paying full price then I would be more inclined to get a better one. Good luck.

i tried the hf one & took it back after only 2 cuts! i don't think that thing has enough torque or power to even cut itself in half, let alone any tubing. i got the rigid one from home depot & it kicks ass. i don't use it daily though. i think it was about $130 (ish) but i could be wrong. don't waste your time or money on the hf one. i even tightened down the base & fulcrum nut as good as i could & it still had lateral movement of about 1/4"...

The shop across the street from me that doe air ride stuff has a HF saw. He says it mostly glazes the blades and makes the steel red, then he cuts it with a cutoff wheel.

I buzz through 2x3 .188 wall in about 10-15 seconds a cut. When I had my steel carbide tipped blade it was probably half the time and a cleaner cut. I need to get another one.

I had a carbide tipped blade awhile back, the damn thing cut through 2X3 like butter! Well worth the extra cash in the time saved as well as not vibrating the shit outa my hands!!

I paid like $175 for my Milwaukee HD model with the cast aluminum base. Its badass. HF sucks.

I have the same saw, love it, found it online for $140 plus shipping about 1 1/2 years ago.

^ I worked at a shop that was too cheap to buy a metal chop saw, and put a metal blade in it. I could hardly cut 1" .120 wall tube with it. It just glazed the blade over. If you're set on that, I'd want to try it out on some 2x3 first.

Personally I don't think tools are the right place to be cheap, but I've done it myself. I say this though, because every time I have been cheap when it came to a tool, it bit me in the ass.
