Definately sounds like a low pressure issue. I have my valves mounted on the tank on my Monte (3/8" SMC's w/1/2" line) and it's not slow by any means. Actually faster than what I like and am thinking about downsizing the line. I've mounted valves at the bag and somewhere in the middle on other vehicles and there is not a noticeable enough difference in response with any of the mounting locations. I've heard that arguement a few times and there may be a slight difference, but we're not puttin' a rocket into space!

I just pulled all my air management off and replumed, replaced everything. I hit frame hard one night driving too low and one of my valves snapped off the tank. Actually bent the fitting on the tank. Lost all air in 3 seconds and was stranded for a while.

so I wouldnt suggest running valves on the tank

Agreed...sounds like a pressure issue......Ive got all my valves mounted on an 8 gal tank, under the bed in the back (running 1/2 lines, 175 psi switch, 2 480s on it)....it has always worked great....I even had to run restrictors to slow it down

(Or for that matter, if u have some sort of restrictors on the valves, make sure they are not tightened all the way up, that will keep your air from going)

I would agree with everyone that says its a pressure issue. My tank, valves and compressor are all located behind the rear axel. I have to have at least 100psi in the tank to even get 80 psi to the front bags

Back when I had my S10 I also had the valves mounted on the tank way in the back. The system was fast as shit and I never notices any lag in the lift. Like said above... more pressure!!
