does anyone have any information on license plate mounting laws.
I believe here in Texas it has to be at the most rear part of vehicle and light has to be seen from at least 50 feet. I don't think it says anything about where at the rear it has to be or if its tilted
dont put it in the lexan window thats about all I know
In SC you only have to run a tag on the rear of a vehicle & its "suppose" to be 12 inches off the ground-thats suppose to be for both cars & trucks lol! You cant have them in the rear windows-so lexans are out & if you have a custom tailgate, hatch or truck lid its got to be straight...no angles!! Oh & its got to have some sort of light on it or thats a $100 fine as well too!!
im in cali. and ya i thought it had to be on the most rear part of the vehicle but not sure
Has to be at the rear most part of the vehicle, has to have a light, and there is a certain height it must be but I don't know the measurement.
I obviously don't abide by the rules, I haven't heard about it yet. I get pulled over less with it hidden than I did with it tied to the back of my bed support with a light on it.
are there any websites that list laws like this so people can check them out? i looked for NC laws breifly but didn't find anything that could relate to vehicle alterations
You can get a handbook from the DMV. Its like $8 I believe.
In Michigan it has to be at the rear most point of the vehicle and be lit. I know, i've been pulled over for it before, lol, a couple times.
