Cummin's swap in a bagged squarebody

Any info out there about putting a cummins in a squarebody GM...that is bagged? I am bouncing the idea around- but I'm worried about the engines hieght. Would love to see a build thread.

ive seen peole do the swap but never bagged. i am curious too because i want the same thing

i am finishing my cummins swap. the bottom of the oil pan is at just about the same height as the front x-member. should be fine for a mild bag. i think a z-ed frame would be alot of work or atleast require a cowl hood.

i can get specific measurements of my setup if you would like.

Yeah- I was planning to run a dropmember in mine along with trimming the lower frame. Sounds too tight. Prolly just stick to a Carbed LS motor.

Really?? A Carbed LS is taller than a 454 TBI motor? I plan to run a cowl hood eventually, but dang. Powerplant options are getting scarce. I didn't know the dropmember raised the motor that much.

no build thread yet. i need to work on one...

my truck is Z'd 2 inches...plus a 4 inch body drop...my motormounts are for putting a LSX in a s10....and i was running the Victor jr high rise intake....maybe without the Z and with the shorter intake and a small air cleaner it would clear...i swapped back to fuel injection and with a 2 inch fiberglass hood my intake clears....barely...but my alternator does not...im gonna swap to a 4 inch hood cause its cheaper than a car intake and front drive setup...but let me recommend a Current Performance wiring harness and keepin your LS motor fuel injected...and you can also run a 4L60/4L80 trans in the same wiring harness....and the harness is around the same price as the intake/control box....plus you have to buy a Carb....thats 300 more bucks...hell thats enough to get your computer tuned....and bam fuel injection and overdrive
