I think they make a rear sump for the old 302 and a few places make altered oil pans. I had a custom frame so not 100% sure what it will all take, mine also has a Mustang steering rack, good luck and let us know how it goes. I also bought some engine brackets off Ebay to mount it, turned out trick.

I know on the I-beam rangers you need the double sump oil pan. The last 302 install I did, I used suicide doors bushing ends , and welded them to a plate and bolted them to another plate welded to the frame that was drilled and tapped. On the motor I made a plate that bolted to the block, and welded tabs to bolt to the bushing. This is one way that will work, but there is more than one way to skin a cat!! Good luck.

well the prob is that the motor has the double sump deal front and rear and has like a raised spot in the middle that the crossmember would sit up into nicely but the steering rack that runs across the front of the crossmember wont allow this to happen, the section of the pan is not large enough to sit over the crossmember and the steering. get what i am sayin?? first ranger build i have ever done so i am bit cornfused on this one.

i also have a 2000 ford ranger with a 302 in it.. i used a fox body mustang rear sump oil pan.. motor mounts are fun cause no one makes them.. at least not to my knowdlege.. i bought some custom anodized aluminum motor mounts from a place that sells dirt track parts and then i made tubing to set the motor mounts on.. not really hard at all..
