chevy 1500/2500 suspension

is the suspension both the same on the 1500 and 2500? i am looking at a 2500 2whl to do for my dad

i just bought a 2500 2wd, and it looks like the rear suspention has a bigger leaf spring pack for towing.

If you're talking about 88-98 body style, then no. I just converted a crewcab shortbed 3/4 ton to 1/2 ton suspension. Up front you can swap out the upper control arm, spindle, rotors, and brake calipers off of a 1/2 ton w/ no problems. The lower control arm can be left alone. Out back, obviously the rearend is different and a bigger spring pack...check out my profile
