Oil is thicker than water, but ti still may leak. I probably wouldn't coat it, because it could get into the engine. And if you took out an entire inch, you probably should add a sump around the bottom to gain back some capacity, because it sounds like you removed a lot.

WTF di you leave the last sump on for? Thats why you had to take so much out. It looks like you could have just cut that one off and plated it flat and been fine. You can just remove the third sump like this.

Or remove it and create a larger sump around the sides.

You should Z it in the first place to make it lay flat. Otherwise your truck will always be ass low.

it is z'ed and i there is no way i could leave the 2nd sump in there stock no room as you can see in the pics once it has the crossmember drug down ...also even if i did remove just the 3rd sump the pan would lay ...i had to do it this way

and i did not just leave the 3rd sump on there like i said i sectioned it about a inch around the 2nd sump so i could use the stock drain hole and plug and when i put this one next to the stock ones its only 1inch shorter than the stock one so not a real big loss of space
