steel 22.5 wheels

so was wondering what makes 22.5 steel semi wheels unable to be machined to use regular tires as apposed to the aluminum wheel thanks for all your help

the steel is to thin . you can not mill what is not there.

steel wheel are not made of thick aluminum.
aluminum semi wheels give you the wiggle room to mill off some material and still have a safe wheel.
