how to install a hei distributer

ok so i know this seems simple enough but i have no reference mark on where to put the vacume advance

it usualy is twords the right valve cover when sitting in the driver seat also wherever you want cylinder 1 to be you should set the rotor one toother be4 there so when you spin in to drop it in can spin to the right spot also cyinder 1 should be on top dead center and cylinder 1 can be any terminal on the cap it dosnt have to be in a certan spot just make sure i know where one is and go from there with the firing order 18436572
