There is more to it then that. You all see the obvious problems, but there is more going on. If the upper and lower, inner a-arm mounts are parallel to each other AND run parallel to the center of the truck, you can get away with simply shorting the arms with only camber issues as the big compromise. BUT if they do not run parallel to each other or the truck (early chevy truck) you will need to redesign the arms a bit in order to keep the geometry decent.

Max, could you not pull the arms in like they do on rangers in this situation? I think some new mounts would be a bit easier than building new arms, or narrowing a full clip. Would that mess up anything? Now sure if the arms have mounts for anything else.

on a mazda the easiest solution would be to narrow the front clip. there is a lot of room on both sides of the engine. for the steering just narrow the center link the same amount and your suspension should remain the same. this could also fork on the chevy if there is enough room.

sorry nnbs = 07-08 chevy... so taking 1/2-3/4" out of top AND bottome control arms will hurt the camber? i figured shortening them equally wouldnt hurt anything other than maybe the turn radius... and possible having to shorten the tie rods?

i know on the art arms for 99-06 silvy they shortent he lower by.5 inch and reangle the upper and just that half and inch does wonders.
