where's this wire go?

on the back of my alternator, i got a yellow wire with blue stripe. it's just hanging. Does anyone know where it goes. This may have something to do with why my alternator is not charging.

Yellow wire with blue stripe goes to your electric choke....doubt the would cause it not to charge.
