Also don't forget their main usage: chassis cab trucks. You probably already know this but it's dead easy to tell for sure if it's a C&C rear; the front wheels line up with between the rears, instead of the fronts being in line with the inner rear. Hope that makes sense. You probably already know this but just in case, figured I'd say it.
No matter what you're going to be moving spring perches (if you're still on springs) so I don't think it really matters which year model you get it from. As long as nobody says otherwise, I'd hunt GMT400 (88-98 bodystyle) trucks because you're more likely to find one, and it might have less miles on it.
