Is cruising dead? Around here it is.....

Just curious if anyone cruises anymore? Every place I can think of that used to have a good "strip" has no one there. In my town, the old strip is so dead on a weekend night, only people out are old or parking to go bar hopping. Not that we have ever had a huge truck scene up here, but there at least used to be rods, classics, imports, and junkers cruisin around. Now nothing.

Theres not even people cruisin the mall.

Totally bums me out as there is nothing to do at night, unless you like to go to the bar, which I despise.

its hit and miss down here but then again we have woodward which is manyly hot rods and classics

Out here most towns have outlawed cruising. Hell even Modesto(American Graffiti fame)votes every year to allow it during the vintage show they have. Its DEAD here!

Back in the day, everyone used to hang out in the Home Depot parking lot on Friday and Saturday nights. It used to be pretty chill until the local riff-raff caught wind of it and started showing up. Next thing you know, there's trash everywhere (both the litter and human variety), people driving like fools, Dealers doing what they do, fights, etc...which inevitably ushered in Johnny Law who basically shut it down by enforcing the loitering laws.

A few of us saw the writing on the wall before Cops got involved and ended up moving over to the In-N-Out down the street. Smaller venue, but better people. However, it was a matter of a few months before history repeated itself at the new location.

There are a few sporadic, inconsistent gatherings scattered throughout the valley, but I really don't care to participate.

Around here i cruise almost every weekend night(if im not working) or any night i have free.

I usually see a few others, but my town only has one main road straight thru it, and its a highway.
Sure you can still race and just cruise, but to many cops, and noone else really does it any more.

But if you can hit up the local walmart(i know, gay) at the right time youll see a few customs and suck parked out in the lot, and if your lucky you may just catch them on the road.

When i had the 'vette nobody would cruise near me, not even the hondas! I guess people just dont wanna deal with cops?

TN has them all over the state (Except in my town, lol) and some of
them are pretty huge. (Murfreesboro, TN had a 750 avg. on Friday's)
We are getting a Hooter's here (Finally) and I'm plan to approach the
Owner about sponsoring a weekly event in 2011. (They are real good
about sponsoring events in TN) We have Mild Winters so that really
helps make Cruising start early spring, all summer, and into late fall.
