I have been wanting to drop a dually for some time now. The problem that exists is I am snowbound for 5 months of the year and I need a truck I can use year round.
Is there any member who is driving a lowered 2wd in the snow? I am curious what guys are doing for tires etc. How much drop can you get away with, I need to pull a fifth wheel.
Thanks for reading.
I used to drive mine all winter here in northern MI. I had a 5/7 drop on it with a set of snow tires on it. I towed a 24' enclosed car hauler full of sleds all over the place. I went through a lot that I probably shouldn't have but its all I had at the time. I also put about 400lbs of weight in the bed.
Where are you from?
Yeah I'm just gonna put some studded snows on mine with a little weight and hope for the best!
granted its not adually but i drove my ram dropped 4/6 on regu tires in michigan every winter i had it running no problem only issues were icy roads and if we got a buttt load of snow but i like krez jsut plowed my own way thru it
New here as well, so forgive me if I'm ignorant. Would he be able to bag his rig and go from lowered to stock height during the winter or at least when there is snow on the ground? I live in Northern Minnesota and this is a concern of mine that I was wondering before I got into a lowered rig.
When you bag most of these trucks, you can get very close to the stock height when they are aired all the way up. However the ride will be very hard at this level.
